Dr. Dishant Gupta
Dr. Dishant Gupta completed his B.Pharm & M.Pharm (Pharmacognosy) from B.R. Nahata College of Pharmacy, Mandsaur, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyala, Bhopal (M.P.) in 2006 and 2008 respectively. He was awarded a PhD degree in pharmaceutical science by JJT University (Raj.) for his research work on "Formulation and Evaluation of Polyherbal Formulations for Urolithiasis" in the year 2020. He has 14.5 years of teaching and research experience. His areas of research are the design and development of herbal formulations, the standardization of herbal formulations, and plant tissue culture. He published 15 research papers in various national and international journals of repute. He has guided 40 UG and 14 PG students in their research work. Currently, 6 research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. under his guidance. He was a member of various organizing committees, i.e., the IPA, the Youth Marathon, AICTE-sponsored national seminar, National pharmacy week celebration, APTICON,PCI-sponsored continuous education programme, National Seminar on Pharmacovigilance, and World Congress. He has successfully completed a 16-week Refresher Course in Pharmacy for Higher Education under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) promotion organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) in Varanasi. He is a life-time member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India and Indian Pharmacy Graduate Association. He has received the Young Teacher Award in a national conference on recent advancements in pharmaceutical and biosciences at OCPR, Oriental University, Indore (M.P.). Currently he is working as a Professor and HOD in the Department of Pharmacognosy at Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy, Indore (M.P.).
Department of Pharmacognosy was established in Swami Vivekanand college of Pharmacy, Indore, in year 2004. The object for establishment of Pharmacognosy department to impart quality education as well as research facilities in Natural and plant based drugs. Pharmacognosy involves the study of the physical, chemical, biochemical and biological properties of natural drugs, including the search for new drugs from natural sources. The subject is one of the core branches in the pharmacy curriculum .The department enjoys the reputation of being one of the most sophisticated and well equipped department in the M.P. The strength of the department lies in its modern labs, sophisticated instruments and high quality research output. Herbal product development, drug discovery and development from natural products, development of nutraceuticals, dietary supplements and cosmeceuticals, herbal IPR and herbal drugs patenting are the focused key areas of the department.
